Our strategic priorities include:The Assistant Director of Career Coaching and Academic Advising supports the implementation and continuous improvement of Indiana's statewide Career Coaching and Navigation Framework. This role provides leadership in aligning academic advising and career coaching initiatives across PK-12 education, ensuring that all Indiana students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to make informed postsecondary decisions. The Assistant Director collaborates with schools, regional intermediaries, and state agencies to promote equitable access to high-quality advising and career exploration opportunities.
Key Responsibilities/Skills Program Leadership & Strategy - Assist in the development and execution of statewide strategies for career coaching and academic advising aligned with Indiana's Career Coaching and Navigation Framework. Support the integration of career exploration, financial literacy, and postsecondary planning into academic advising systems. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of advising programs and recommend improvements based on data and stakeholder feedback. Stakeholder Engagement - Serve as a liaison between IDOE and local education agencies, regional career coaching intermediaries, and postsecondary institutions. Provide technical assistance and professional development to school counselors, career coaches, and administrators. Represent IDOE at conferences, advisory councils, and public forums related to student pathways and advising. Data & Compliance - Analyze data related to student advising outcomes, career pathway selection, and postsecondary transitions. Ensure compliance with state and federal policies related to career readiness and academic advising. Support the implementation of tools such as Indiana Career Explorer, Naviance, and Xello. Grant & Resource Management - Assist in the administration of career coaching grants and support grantees in meeting program goals. Develop and disseminate resources, toolkits, and guidance documents to support local implementation. Salary Statement The salary for this position traditionally starts at $75,010.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work.
