Position Overview
Our client is seeking a dependable Chemical Operator to join their night shift operations in a chemical manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating plant equipment, handling materials, monitoring process conditions, performing quality checks, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
This hands-on role requires mechanical aptitude, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Candidates with previous chemical plant or manufacturing experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
Plant Operation & Monitoring
Operate, monitor, and adjust plant systems including feeds, temperatures, pressures, and flows.
Follow all written procedures, batch instructions, and guidance from Leads and Managers.
Perform process sampling, testing, and documentation in accordance with quality requirements.
Material Handling & Production
Weigh and add raw materials accurately and safely.
Track and maintain material inventory.
Load finished products into bulk tankers, totes, and drums.
Assist maintenance teams by preparing equipment for repair or service.
Safety, Compliance & Documentation
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA, EPA, PSM, and internal safety policies.
Maintain housekeeping standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Record data accurately in the ERP system and in all required logs and forms.
Participate in EHS programs, safety drills, and ongoing training.
Continuous Improvement & Teamwork
Provide feedback and improvement suggestions to management.
Collaborate effectively with team members across all levels of the facility.
Support shift coverage needs, including overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma (required).
1 5 years of chemical or manufacturing experience (Chemical Plant Technician certificate may substitute)
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
Ability to work night shift and maintain a flexible schedule.
Ability to lift, bend, climb, and perform physically demanding tasks safely.
Preferred
Community college certificate in Chemical Processing or related field.
Knowledge of hazardous materials handling and environmental compliance.
Experience with emergency response training.
Work Environment
24/7 chemical manufacturing facility.
Night shift role with overtime as required.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary: $50,000 $60,000 per year
