Job Title: Clinical Clerk

Job Type:   Full-Time/Contract * This role is a 6-month assignment.

Job Salary:  $22.44-$23.27/hour  *dependent on experience*

Job Schedule:   Mon–Thu 8:00 AM–5:30 PM; Fri 8:00 AM–12:00 PM; 3rd Sat monthly 8:00 AM–12:00 PM.

The Clinic Clerk performs a variety of clerical duties in support of the department, providing high‑level customer service to participants and applicants. Responsibilities include reception and client intake, screening and calculating applicant eligibility, processing program documentation, issuing benefits, supporting basic lab procedures, maintaining accurate client records, and participating in community outreach. The role ensures client satisfaction and meets state performance metrics; minimum qualification is one year of clerical work or training, with data‑entry experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reception and client intake: Greet clients, verify identity and appointments, collect required documentation, and register clients in the clinic system.
  • Eligibility screening and calculations: Review residency, identification, income, immunization, and anthropometric data; calculate eligibility per department guidelines.
  • Benefit issuance and documentation: Prepare and issue food benefits/vouchers, update client records, scan and file forms to maintain audit readiness.
  • Data entry and record maintenance: Accurately enter client data into electronic systems; ensure confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Support for basic lab procedures: Assist clinical staff with routine point‑of‑care tasks and follow infection‑control protocols.
  • Appointment scheduling and phone support: Manage incoming calls, schedule/reschedule visits, and provide program information and referrals.
  • Customer service and conflict resolution: De‑escalate frustrated clients, explain program rules, and escalate clinical or eligibility issues to supervisor
  • Community outreach and quality assurance: Participate in outreach events and support audits and performance‑metric reporting.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements (relevant to duties)

  • Minimum: 1 year of clerical work or training .
  • Preferred: 1 year of data‑entry experience and familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic EHR/data systems.
