In this position, you will serve as the LGBTQ Education Specialist in the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Center. In this role, you will work to provide educational leadership, program development, consultation, and resources to increase the capacity and subject matter expertise within school districts related to LGBTQ students and programming. You will work with help schools create school inclusion policies and practices for a safer and more affirming learning environment for all students.
Additional duties included are to;
+ Research, plan, develop, facilitate, and evaluate large-scale virtual and in-person professional learning, professional networking opportunities, and implementation activities that are designed to develop, improve, and support district and school staff to implement effective practices.
+ Support the Gender-Neutral Single-User Restrooms for Charter Schools and cohorts. This grant program is designed to intentionally increase accessible use of restroom facilities and improve student health and safety through measurable outcomes.
+ Provide technical assistance and coaching that supports district and school leaders to build their knowledge and skills in implementing effective policies, frameworks and practices.
+ Assist in the collection, development and distribution of critical guidance and resources to support educators
+ Perform other duties as assigned by director of the center, and contribute as needed to center and MDE teams, responsibilities, and activities in an appropriate and timely manner.
**This position is eligible for telework to applicants who reside in Minnesota or a bordering state. Effective June 1, employees living within 50 miles of the office location listed above will be required to work in the office at least 50% of the time each month. For those who live 50 or more miles away, with supervisory approval and satisfactory performance are eligible to telework up to 100% of the time.**

Five (5) years of Professional experience in K-12 education OR a master's degree may substitute for 18 months of experience; a bachelor's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
**Experience must include:**
+ Leading LGBTQ programming, projects, or activities
+ **Experience developing and leading professional development to educators**
+ **Experience administering education grants**
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Community engagement with diverse populations experience
+ Experience providing training or consultation to educators on LGBTQ+ topics
+ Experience leading or implementing LGBTQ policies and practices
+ Experience with anti-bias practices and strategies.
