Hiring substitute teachers for Local Catholic School System

Starting Salary: $180 per day

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Following lesson plans provided by the Teacher
• Managing the classroom effectively
• Adapting teaching methods to fit the needs of students
• Supervising students in and out of the classroom
• Providing in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
• Long-term subs may create lesson plans, assign grades and/or participate in parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications:

• Education Experience
• Minimum of 60 college credits
• 2.0 or Higher Grade Point Average
• Can pass a criminal background check through the Diocese of St. Pete
• Are legally registered to work in the USA

 

Do I need to be Catholic to sub at a Catholic School?

No! Our school partners are looking for excellent subs who are interested in working in a safe, supportive environment with motivated students. To be a right-fit substitute, you will be asked to have a basic understanding and be respectful of Catholic school culture and practices.

Will I need to have any special training? Yes. In addition to the mandatory pre-hire training for all substitute teachers, applicants will complete one additional class to be qualified to substitute with our Catholic school partners.
