Job Description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! • Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly
• Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene
• Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary
• Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and stations where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is used
• Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces

Qualifications:

• We’d prefer it if you have an associate's degree (AA), or equivalent, but it’s not required for the job
• Must be comfortable handling sharp knives and other kitchen tools when prepping food
• You should possess the basic knowledge of food preparation and perform these duties with minimal supervision from the head cook or chef
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, as well as bend, pull heavy items, and stand on your feet for your entire shift
• Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English
