Job Description

Role Overview

As the Traffic Control Division Coordinator , you will be responsible for overseeing all traffic management operations for construction sites, special events, and other projects requiring traffic control. You will ensure the implementation of safety measures, compliance with traffic laws, and the smooth flow of traffic to minimize disruptions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive traffic control plans for projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, construction teams, and local authorities to ensure compliance with all regulations.
  • Lead and supervise a team of traffic control personnel, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Ensure all traffic control devices (signs, barriers, cones, etc.) are placed according to safety guidelines and are in good working condition.
  • Monitor traffic flow and adjust traffic management plans as needed.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
  • Train and mentor traffic control staff, promoting a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records of traffic control activities, ensuring timely reporting and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in traffic control, preferably in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Extensive knowledge of traffic control plans, safety regulations, and state/local traffic laws.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Certification in Traffic Control or similar credentials (preferred but not required).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
