Senior Tax Reviewer

Position Overview

We’re seeking a skilled Senior Tax Review to oversee and ensure the accuracy and compliance of individual and business tax returns before submission to the IRS. This role is integral to maintaining our firm’s high standards of precision, efficiency, and client trust. You’ll collaborate with preparers and managers, resolve complex tax issues, and serve as the go-to resource for tax law and compliance guidance.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experienced in reviewing complex returns with meticulous attention to detail

• Strong understanding of federal and state tax laws and current compliance standards

• Confident communicator who collaborates well with preparers and managers

• Skilled at identifying errors, improving processes, and ensuring timely filings

• Proficient in Lacerte software and accustomed to high-volume tax environments

Key Responsibilities

• Review individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns prior to IRS submission

• Collaborate with preparers and managers to resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance

• Research and interpret tax laws to address complex client situations

• Monitor workflow to ensure deadlines are met during peak tax season

• Maintain documentation of review notes and audit-ready files

• Mentor team members and support training on compliance updates and system efficiency

Qualifications and Must-Haves

• 5+ years of tax preparation and review experience in a public accounting or tax firm

• Strong command of Lacerte and other tax software

• In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws

• CPA preferred, but not required if equivalent experience demonstrated

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

• Yiddish speaking highly preferred
